We were very pleased to be asked to supply post protection for the workshop at Cotswold BMW. They take their responsibilities very seriously at Cotswold BMW and no more so than when they have a customer’s car into the workshop. We designed and supplied three post protectors which were a perfect fit for the columns both inside and outside the workshop. They were so successful that they later added a fourth to protect another column in the workshop. As the Cotswold Motor Group colours feature orange, we were able to supply just the right colour which was able to offer both protection from scuffs and a visual key to the drivers.
Working in conjunction with Holland Landscapes we installed a 5m x 3m Onda in an Essex garden. With relatively short lead times and an installation done by lunchtime this was the perfect end to the week! Featuring a white frame and orange roof, this is set to make a statement over fantastic porcelain tiles. We can’t wait to see the finished garden
We are pleased to be able to offer our ex-demo Pentland Pavilion for sale. Measuring 3m x 3m with white powder coated frame and 16mm multi-link polycarbonate panels. This structure was used at the IOG show in September for a week and is now surplus to requirements. RRP is £3700 ex VAT but willing to accept offers over £2000. Please contact us for further details.
We were approached by the Hyatt Group to supply and install two retractable canopies for a new-build residential project in Surrey. Due to the available height, it was decided that the Med Isola retractable canopy would be the best product. By choosing the side leaning option, the canopies both feature a wall mounted track and they retract from side to side leaving a large opening and un-cluttered look. The roofs are electrically operated and have been integrated into the full-house automation system by KNX. Once the roofs had been set up using a hand-held controller, operation was taken over by the KNX system which is operated using flat screens within the house. The Med Isola is part of a larger range of Gibus retractable canopies available from Outside Structure Solutions.
Also launched at the IOG was the brand-new Chiltern Doorway canopy. Expanding on our formidable range of tensile membrane structures, this neatly fits above most doorways. With a powder-coated aluminium frame-work and simple barrel-arch roof this is a great addition to the front of any building. As a first for our tensile structures, this is available with optional brackets to enable the Chiltern to be fitted directly to the wall with only outer legs, meaning a quicker installation. This has the added advantage of allowing us to provide a half-barrel roof to make long and narrow canopies which are ideal to cover a walkway outside windows. When linked together the Chiltern canopies can provide a simple and cost-effective walkway solution. Please contact us for more information.
We were very pleased to be asked to install two identical Mendip polycarbonate structures at Beachborough School for their Early Years teaching block.
A single weekend was all it took to install a large double Qube canopy into the rear play area at FG Primary School. The installation was difficult however our installation team was more than up to the task. Due to the size, Building Regulations approval was required so we dug the footings and had them passed during the summer holidays and then covered them with tarmac to make the area safe. When we came to install, it was a simple matter to remove the skim of tarmac and then we could fix the canopy down. To add to the difficulty, the site sloped in two directions and the drainage areas were all in one corner! As we were installing adjacent to a Victorian building, there were numerous brick buttresses and pillars to contend with, but the major difficulty was that the windows above the main door were recessed. We designed a special infill piece with “brushes” at the end which butted up to the window and the brushes were used to ensure that the glass wasn’t scratched but water and leaves couldn’t get down behind the canopy. The customer was very happy and they now have a fantastic covered play area which they can be very proud of.
Another return visit, however this time it was to the IOG Saltex Show at the Windsor Racecourse. This is our fourth year and it was good to see some people we have previously met. We showcased both a Mendip and Redwood canopy which was a great opportunity to see canopies outside.
Following the installation of a new Early Years canopy at BSP School during the summer we were really pleased to be able to return early in the Autumn Term to add to the structure. Part of the original brief had been to provide a structure which fitted the area (within budget constraints) but also be flexible enough to add to at a later date. With this in mind we returned to install electrically operated roller shutters. Fitted with all the requisite safety brakes etc. the electrically powered shutters are simple to operate, using a key switch to which the children do not have access, combined with a hold-to-run facility which ensures that a member of staff must operate the motors themselves from a position underneath the canopy. This means that the staff are able to watch the shutters coming down which combines with the built-in safety features to make the area safe. The roller shutters have transformed the afternoon hassle of putting things inside for the staff, as they only need to ensure that the post protectors are removed and the toys are not in the way of the roller shutters, and within a couple of minutes everything can be closed up and ready for off! The roller shutters have been powder coated in a RAL colour to match the frame of the canopy and the whole installation looks great.
A very busy eight days saw our installation team install 3 Mendips and two Quantock-style doorway canopies at three different sites – top work!
